Our highly successful senior moving company business model has grown to include not only an award winning consignment shop but an auction house as well. In fact, our Roanoke auction house is Virginia’s only licensed auction house without an auctioneer.
We developed our proprietary “Browse & Bid” format. Bidders can register and place bids at any one of our six computer stations and then actually leave the auction if they wish, without leaving the “action”. Bidders can follow the action on their home computers, even creating a list of “favorites” to watch and bid on from home.
Large crowds enjoy the opportunity to bid on all of the household items that our senior clients no longer want when they are downsizing.
The variety of items auctioned off includes something for everybody: coins, cars, boats, jewelry, art, antiques and collectibles, dining, living room and bedroom sets, outdoor furniture, sports and exercise equipment, toys and tools, china and glassware, rugs, books and records, electronics, appliances and other items too numerous to mention.
The entire community benefits from our “Browse & Bid” auctions. We serve as a major recycling agent to college students, young, growing families, seasoned homeowners looking to refurbish, retirees looking for smaller pieces, as well as dealers and collectors. We truly have something for everyone on any budget.
Our monthly auctions occur on a combined Friday and Saturday, with the high bid winning the item at 8 p.m. Saturday night.
So here’s how it works:
Folks can register at 6712 Williamson Rd. as early as Wednesday afternoon prior to the auction. The two day auction is continuous, beginning on a Friday at 10 a.m., and after a day of bidding, the action pauses at 8 p.m. on Friday. The bidding picks up again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Bidders can come and go all day.
With over 1,400 items at every auction, people enjoy the time to review and reflect, take measurements, alert other family members and friends and, in short, enjoy a relaxed bidding experience. Everyone can watch the bidding action on the five large screens that refresh every 30 seconds.
By 7 p.m. Saturday night it gets exciting, with people queuing up to place last minute bids on their favorite lot numbers.
When the horn sounds at 8 p.m. the bidding is over. The winners can pay with cash, check or credit card and take their “loot” home Saturday night. Those that need to arrange a pick up can do so within seven days or Crowning Touch will deliver.
And to everyone’s delight, there is no buyer’s premium!
